Clover (Hop)
Pea Family
(Trifolium agrarium)

Hop Clover grows erect and up to eighteen inches tall in waste places and along roadsides. The small leaflets are in sets of three and have very short leaf stalks or are attached directly to the stem itself. The yellow flowers are clusted at the end of the stem. As the flowers fade, the individual flowers turn brown and fold downward. This brown head looks similar to that of dried hops - hence the name Hop Clover
