Canada Lily (Wild Yellow Lily)
Lily Family
( Lilium canadense)

Other names for the lily are Field Lily or Wild Yellow Lily. It is more typically a yellow lily, but the color varies from yellow to orange to almost red. The plant is from two to five feet tall and grows in moist open places or wet meadows. Canada Lily has clusters of up to twenty bell-shaped flowers - each on its own pedicel (flower stem). The flowers are in a nodding position at the summit of the stem or from the axils of upper leaves. There are large dark spots on the inside of the petals. The long, pointed leaves are usually in whorls at intervals around the slender stem.
